Hewlett Packard Enterprise's analytics and data insights will help put the "genius" in Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses

IT company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced today that it’s partnered with Seattle-based esports organization Evil Geniuses to support the organization with technology for advanced insights and deep data analysis. The company did not reveal the financial details of the multiyear sponsorship. HPE confirmed to Sports Business Journal that this is its first esports partnership.

Evil Geniuses CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson pointed out that the organization “has invested heavily in the potential of data analytics in esports since 2019.” According to her, that investment played a role in the team securing its first LCS title a few months ago. Through the partnership with HPE, Evil Geniuses is combining its proprietary data analytics technology with the IT giant’s technology.

The focus of the partnership is to make significant impacts on talent discovery, talent development, and game strategy. Evil Geniuses will use HPE’s data solutions to collect and analyze global gameplay data to identify emergent players, improve training modules for its teams, and use AI and machine learning to support its coaches with strategy development.
