SBJ ALL IN: Camye Mackey

Bryce France

Camye Mackey

Executive Vice President and Chief People, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena

The 2022 Georgia Diversity Council Woman of the Year, Mackey has developed recruitment policies to ensure a diverse workforce. This includes inclusive job descriptions, countering unconscious bias in messaging and appealing to underrepresented talent. She’s committed to a diverse talent pipeline and interview panel, resulting in a diverse workforce with 40% women; 41% women in senior leadership roles; and 58% of vice presidents or higher who are women and people of color. In her nearly four years with the Hawks, Mackey has built partnerships with historically Black colleges and universities to create workforce development programming. And, in 2021, the team opened its workforce development center to assist Atlanta’s unemployed and underemployed.
