SBJ ALL IN: Danita Johnson

D.C. United

Danita Johnson

President, Business Operations, D.C. United

Diversity, equity and inclusion has been a cornerstone of Johnson’s first year at D.C. United. The team formed an internal DEI Committee to provide recommendations to organization leadership. Additionally, Johnson brought in a two-part DEI training working shop, led by Results One, a minority and woman-owned consultancy based in D.C., to educate all front-office staffers around topics including unconscious bias. More than two dozen team staffers committed to a day of service on Jan. 17 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy, mentoring 66 high school and college-age students, providing virtual mentorship and answering questions about sports business. On March 12, the team hosted an International Women’s Day and girls empowerment workshop.
