The first Black woman to join the Heat’s executive team and a member of the Who’s Who in Black South Florida, Harty created employee resource groups for women, Black employees and parents/caregivers. She coordinates the team’s HBCU Fellowship program, which provides students with career development opportunities. She led initiatives for:

 Domestic partner benefits.
■ Establishing Juneteenth and Election Day as company-wide paid holidays.
 Creating a sensory/wellness room in the arena.
■ Under her direction, the Heat, winners of the inaugural NBA Inclusion Leadership Award in 2018, cast a wide recruiting net, meeting diverse people where they live, work or study.
