The Esports Awards announced its first round of finalists in the entertainment award category as well as seeing a familiar face in The Truman Factory returning as a sponsor. The candy manufacturer returns after sponsoring the industry awards last year.

Headlining this first round of nominee announcements is the esports and gaming lifestyle organization 100 Thieves, nominated for Content Group of the Year, Valorant for Esports Game of the Year, and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok for Esports Personality of the Year.

Debuting in 2016, The Esports Awards became the de facto authority for the industry, creating an awards panel filled with the most successful and recognizable names in esports. The Esports Awards used its climbing notoriety to showcase “top class performance and innovation from, [among] others, the players, teams, media, hardware providers, games, events, and personalities within the scene.”

Voting is now open for the entertainment categories, with all other categories still open for nominations.

[Editor’s note: The Esports Observer/SBJ Esports has won the Esports Coverage Platform of the Year award the past two years, and Kevin Hitt won Esports Journalist of the Year during last year’s awards ceremony. SBJ has submitted applications for this year’s awards.]
