In Portland, Nick Daschel notes the LPGA Portland Classic is returning to Columbia Edgewater Country Club and has a "new title sponsor" for its '22 tournament in September. Korean-based sports apparel and equipment company AmazingCre has "agreed to become the Portland Classic’s title sponsor" in '22. Cambia Health had "been the title sponsor" since '15. With AmazingCre on board, the Portland Classic has "bumped its prize purse" to $1.5M for the '22 tournament (Portland OREGONIAN, 5/12).

STAYIN' LOCAL: In K.C., James Dornbrook notes the NWSL K.C. Current added a "well-known local brand to its sponsorship ranks," signing a one-year deal with American Century Investments. The K.C.-based firm "isn’t a stranger to sports partnerships," having sponsored the American Century Celebrity Championship Golf Tournament for "more than 20 years." But the sponsorship of the Current is its "first local sports deal," and American Century was "attracted to the opportunity to team up with professional female athletes to elevate and advance women." The deal will "give American Century advertising at the stadium as well as access to as-yet undetermined engagement events" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/11).
