Take 5 partners with Playfly to reach different markets

Take 5 Oil Change is turning to sports media and marketing company Playfly Sports and its Home Team Sports RSN, “partnering with 11 teams over three major leagues and college sports,” according to Jason Notte of ADWEEK. The push features "broadcast spots, streaming ads and in-venue promotions including Take 5 Timeouts during breaks in the action.” Take 5 wanted to "focus on specific markets within its coverage area while speaking to the largest possible audiences," so for its latest campaign, the company "focused its efforts on teams within a handful of Playfly markets." That led to partnerships with the Pacers, Thunder, Hawks, Grizzlies, Spurs, Pelicans, Saints, Brewers, Rays, Astros, and LSU. Take 5 wanted to "convey speed and simplicity more than anything else, getting across its swift, in-car oil change service.” Playfly used “animated in-game graphics to illustrate those ideas.” Playfly COO Craig Sloan said that Take 5 wanted to "'seamlessly tap into sports fandom’ without targeting a particular sport," and the animations "do so without halting the flow of the game” (, 5/9).
