Dr. Constance Brooks is the Vice President of Public Affairs and Diversity for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). In her role, Dr. Brooks leads the vision, strategy development and advocacy for the LVCVA’s government affairs, diversity equity and inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Brooks has served as a county government legislative liaison, Vice Chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education, and MGM Vice President of Regional Government Affairs.
Dr. Brooks earned a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from UNLV in 2012. Her research emphasis was the nexus between public policy and identity in politics. She also earned a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in administrative practice and planning from UNLV. Dr. Brooks earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University. She is also an adjunct professor for the UNLV Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.
With roots in Illinois, Dr. Brooks was raised with the value of community service and giving back. As such, she has been involved in several community organizations to include Catholic Charities, Clark County Citizens Advisory Committee, Clark County Juvenile Justice Sister to Sister mentoring program, Nevada Humanities, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
In 2018, Dr. Brooks was appointed by Governor Sandoval to serve on the Nevada Commission for Women. She was also appointed by the Las Vegas City Council to serve as a Trustee for the Las Vegas-Clark County Library Board. She is a 2021 appointee to the UNLV Alumni Association Board of Directors.
