Miheer Walavalkar

CEO & Co-Founder, LiveLike

Miheer Walavalkar is the co-founder and CEO of LiveLike, a pioneering and fast-growing tech company that partners with leading media and sports organizations to transform passive audiences into engaged communities.  LiveLike's technology revolutionizes how we interact online by creating custom social experiences with leading industry partners from Canal+, FloSports, FOX, Sky Group and WarnerMedia to the Golden State Warriors, LaLiga, NASCAR, and the NBA.

LiveLike initially launched in 2015 as a virtual reality company focused on live sports, and under Miheer’s leadership, has evolved to focus on its audience engagement and gamification platform.  He has also expanded the company's technology beyond sports, to entertainment, music, news, education and audio, with more to come.

Capitalizing on the evolution of online fan behavior and the increased expectation of interactivity with content, LiveLike provides tools that empower its partners to engage, retain and monetize their audiences in new ways.  These include co-viewing via watch parties and chat; gamification -- from sports betting to leaderboards and trivia; and applications that span e-commerce, the creator economy and more.

An avid sports fan who has traveled the world with sports as a catalyst, Miheer describes LiveLike as his dream job, through which he has worked with nearly every major sporting event in the world, from the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup to NCAA March Madness, the NBA Playoffs, French Open, premier European soccer leagues and more. Miheer was also a gold medalist in table tennis. From ages 10 to 15, he traveled to every state in India to compete while being required to quickly immerse himself into different cultures and communicate with people who spoke many other languages.  Additionally, while studying at Georgia Tech, he teamed up with three other international students, two from Uganda and one from Lebanon, to found the GT Table Tennis Club.

This early experience prepared him for an entrepreneurial journey in 2012 when he started an education technology company in India before moving to Paris to take over a French sports technology startup.  Miheer also led YouFoot Sports, a UK-based tech startup that worked with soccer federations and teams worldwide, where he spearheaded the company's global expansion.  He has spent his career partnering and networking with some of the best and brightest business minds in the world of sport.

Today, Miheer leads a global team that has grown to more than 35 employees, with offices in New York, India and Portugal, and has raised $17+ MM to date from Evolution Media (CAA/TPG), Greycroft Partners, Dentsu, LA Dodgers, and late NBA Commissioner David Stern.  He is a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association 40 Under 40 Class of 2021, and has been included in multiple industry lists, including the Sports Business Journal 40 under 40 class in 2018 and the Leaders in Sports under 40 class in 2019.
