Brynn Carlson

Volleyball Student Athlete, University of Missouri

Brynn Carlson graduated from Kansas State University with bachelor’s degrees in Human Nutrition, Kinesiology, and Dietetics, as well as a master’s in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Sensory Sciences. During her time at Kansas State, she also competed on the volleyball team, serving as a member of the leadership council during her senior season and leading the team to a 3rd place finish in the Big 12, as well as taking home CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America honors. Off the court, Brynn displayed her leadership and advocacy skills through serving as Kansas State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President, Big 12 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Chair, and representing the Big 12 on the Division 1 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She also served as the student-athlete representative to the Division 1 Committee on Academics, where she was an integral part of navigating the academic landscape of collegiate athletics, especially during the pandemic.

Brynn is currently a 5th year volleyball student athlete at the University of Missouri pursuing a MEd in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership. She has continued her advocacy work for student-athletes at the national level and was elected vice-chair of Division 1 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, also giving her opportunities to serve as member of the Division 1 Council and Division 1 Council Coordination Committee. Her various experiences within the governance structure of athletics have shaped her future career goals, and she plans to pursue a career in collegiate athletic administration.

In her free time, Brynn enjoys reading, traveling, baking, and listening to podcasts.
