Betsy Grider

Chief Strategy Officer, Patron Technology

Betsy Grider is a strategic executive who thrives on growth, disruption, and transformation.  Building upon sports experiences at NASCAR, the Chicago White Sox and Duke University, she now puts capital to work in the sports and entertainment industry as an investor and operator. 

Betsy currently serves on the management team at Patron Technology as Chief Strategy Officer.  With growth equity investment and an aggressive M&A strategy, Betsy and the Patron team built a premiere live event technology platform that offers comprehensive ticketing, access control, mobile, cashless, sponsorship activation, gamification, and community engagement.

Patron Technology now serves every major sports league, music festivals, fandom conventions, pop-up museums, high school sports and a wide breadth of other live entertainment experiences.  To identify, acquire and integrate 9 industry leading technologies across the US, Canada and Australia, Betsy first evaluated over 200 companies in event commerce, engagement, and operations.

Prior to joining Patron Technology, Betsy built, launched, and led NASCAR’s Technology Development and Integration division. During her tenure at NASCAR, she led projects to bring Vision AI into Pit Road Officiating, launched Twitter’s first sports partnership, and played an integral role in building the NASCAR Digital Media business.

Prior to launching Technology Development, Betsy’s Strategic Development team served as the internal “launch squad” to structure and seed strategic platforms including the NASCAR Industry Action Plan focused on building a younger and more diverse fanbase.

Betsy’s sports career began at Duke University where she served as the Sports Photography Editor for The Chronicle. She then managed Advertising for the Chicago White Sox prior to joining NASCAR.

Betsy serves on the Board of Directors for Project Scientist, a non-profit committed to building STEM confidence for girls in underserved communities.
