Chris Brandt is the Chief Marketing Officer for Chipotle Mexican Grill. Mr. Brandt joined Chipotle in April 2018. Mr. Brandt has focused on transforming Chipotle into a purpose driven lifestyle brand, making it more visible and culturally relevant with consumers. Building brand engagement and affinity, Mr. Brandt has created award-winning marketing campaigns for Chipotle and was named Adweek’s Top CMO (2021); ‘The 25 Most Innovative CMOs In The World’ by Business Insider (2021, 2020); Adweek’s CMO Vanguard Award winner (2020); Executive of the Year by Mobile Marketer (2019); and the American Business Award’s ‘Marketing Executive of the Year’ Silver Stevie Winner (2020, 2019).
Prior to joining Chipotle, Mr. Brandt was Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of Bloomin’ Brands, Inc., where he was responsible for all marketing activities across Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming's. Mr. Brandt also served as the Chief Brand Officer for Taco Bell, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., where he launched Live Mas, Doritos Locos Tacos, breakfast, and the mobile app.
Mr. Brandt has an undergraduate degree in economics from The University of California, San Diego and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School at The University of California, Los Angeles.
